I want to start writing and this video gave me great tips thx :)
Thank you very much for the wonderful tips. I am currently also writing a fantasy novel. Happy writing.
I subscribed! love your video!
The biggest problem with creating a fantasy fiction storyline is trying not to plagiarize anothers work. It is so easy to do that, because if you're like me-you get easily inspired by movie trailers and stories that get you so pumped up, that you find you're actually creating the same work(if not VERY similar) that had once inspired you. It is so frustrating. It's a little bit easier now, but I occasionally find myself copying another's work that I had never heard of at the time. It is so hard trying to create an original work when you've been using fanfiction to strengthen your writing. I find myself practically begging for spoon-fed information for the sake of not giving up on my dreams to one day create a book series of my own. Does anyone have any tips to help me out? My dreams to write are hanging by a thread.
This helped a lot and she's really pretty
She kinda looks like an elf
Thank You, very helpful!
Love your accent ..greeting from malaysia
Thanks for those tips! I just wrote my fantasy story. Actually I think it's good. The name is:Renee and the secret of forest of green Elphonia. Sorry if I sayd it wrong I translated it from my language.
This was really helpful so thank you a lot! Cheers!
Themusic is a major problem here. it is too loud and takes away from what she is saying.
Hello I saw you at the island
Was this made in like the 90's?

Lmao, when I first clicked the video, I was thinking "Damn, you look AND sound like a fantasy creature" and then I read the comments.
Very interesting but the piano got a little loud.
Tip6: read a bit of history of Poland. Tolkien got inspired this way.
I obsess over my research even on minute or irrelevant details. The few friends who like reading my stuff absolutely loath this, but for me it's part of the fun ^_^
You look like a fairy! :)
Background music is too loud.
Thank you so much! I want to be a Novelist writer.
Music is too loud

You're like a cute little fairy pixie!
If it is fantasy then why the laws of physics? coz it is supposed to be unreal and unlogical anyways.
Your encouragement is wonderful..
Thanks for the tips, really helps! :)
Hi there, I was looking for music to inspire myself while writing and found your video, I've been writing a dark fantasy book for about 3 years now (on and off) and your tips are really helpful, now that I'm feeling a bit lost. The story is about a teenage girl who suffers from an awful case of bullying at school (my own experience) and it's so bad that she commits suicide, but when a grim reaper comes to take her soul, he falls in love with her instead and brings her back to life (very odd behavior for an angel of death) so after that, he appears in her life and helps her so seek revenge on the other teens who hurt her, around all this events, he shows her parts of his power (now reduced) and tells her about the Underworld, the god Hades and his queen, Persephone, I've research a lot lol as I'm a big fan of all kinds of mythologies and dark stuff. Sorry for the long post, I guess I got a little too excited about my project lol greetings from Venezuela.

Pretty sure watching this vid means i'm on Tip 3: Do Your Research
This was probably the most helpful video yet! I never really considered the notebook idea, but now I will definitely carry one around with me, as I am always daydreaming. Thank you for the amazing video!
Thank you so very much for this video!
Just finished my first dark fantasy that incorporates actual science. I needed this! Wonderful video. No. 5...Awesome! Can't wait to read one of your books too. Thank you.
These are all great, inspiring tips. Makes me wanna get to work on my manuscript. I'm working on a sci-fi story and I feel like all these tips still apply.
Is it bad I'm watching this just because I'm procrastinating on writing my novel?
I really needed this. Thank you.
V. useful thanks

It was very useful. This was great and the note book one helped the most.
Thanks for the tips! I have just started writing my first series of fantasy novels and I am even trying to invent my own, brand new, genre in it. I myself study physics and philosophy (so not all physicists hate fantasy).:P*"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world".* - Albert Einstein
Awesome video. It really helped. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much! These tips gave me the advice I needed
Kinda funny how her accent seems like something from a fantasy movie
I Love This Video.. You Helped Me Thank You.. Sincerely!
Thanks you for the tips it really is helpful ๐Ÿ˜Š
Fuck, I have so much research to do. I'm really new to fantasy and im not even sure my story would even fall into this genre. but it's worth looking into I really need to figure out a magic system before I start adding more characters.
Writing fantasy is quite easy. Take Lord of the Rings, change it to a sword and hey, Sword of Shannara. Interesting points, I expected you to be a total idiot, like Andrea Heckler or Katytastic, but I do believe that if they are not already in you, then you aren't a writer. What surprised me even more is that you are giving advice and actually have written books (I checked on Amazon before commenting). A lot of advisers on YouTube (and Writer's Bureau) seem to have nothing published except, sometimes, "How to Write" books. A bit like learning self-defence from a book or DVD from someone who has watched, but never been actually involved. I don't go with the "write what you know" because you should be researching, no matter what you write, therefore you should know before you start. My own two tips: 1: Write what EXCITES you. 2. Finish your first draft BEFORE you do any editing, rewriting, etc. If you aren't excited, how can your readers be? How many would-be writers do you know who can't finish that first book because of endless rewriting? I was guilty of it myself in the past. I also don't write to a market. Recently books like Maze Runner, The 100, The Hunger Games, are very popular. I believe you should start your own trend. I wish you success in your writing. BTW I currently have 3 novels of a 10 novel series in print, and the fourth is currently in proof reading. I followed my advice for all of them. I did two years of reading and research (ongoing) before starting to write, and created my own world, based on 20th Century Earth, in the Faction genre (fiction based on fact).
Well I already wrote my first fantasy book ๐Ÿ˜…, and is quite big world with 24 kingdoms and every fantasy race that just came to my head, but it was a lot of fun, because this is my world, my story, my characters and my wars ๐Ÿ˜œ
Great advice, esp. explaining how things that defy physics. Thanks!
What is the song called? I know it's by Kevin MacLeod but I don't know the name. EDIT: I found it, it's called Sovereign.
Loveit this helps so much !!!!!!!!!:)
It helped! thankyou po
Great video! Thank you :D Do you still make videos?
Ty for this. I'm starting my own series of small scale fantasy tales and this really helped me.
I love that opening did you make it yourself
Tip nr 6: Don't let life get in your way like I did :-)
Thank you.
The music is making me emotional
Don't go crazy on the fairy dust folks :D
As good as these were, they didn't help me write the Mountain troll on baby hobbit erotica
Amen to tip nr1 i have loads of notes, very usefuljust as a reference so i dont forget anything dates timelines names locations how this and that works etc
Thank you for the tips, I will use them, I do S/F and fiction adventure, and what you say now makes a lot of sense of the problems I have been having.
Thank you this was very helpful , Since you are a fellow Brit ( Northern ? ) can you please help me i read a lot and most of the books i read in the fantasy genre are American so my question is should i stick to my roots and keep my Northern ways or Americanize it a little?
You are really really cute
I've been back and forth with writing a fantasy for a few years now. To create a whole word with people and creatures is a insane task. I spent at least 2 hours just on the map and I may still change it. this great advice thanks a bunch.
What's the song in the background
All these tips were a huge help, and still are whenever I decide to write something. Thank you, your advice has helped a ton.
Thanks for the video, but the loud piano as 'background noise' was unnecessary.
The background music! ๐Ÿ˜ What is it? Thanks for the video :)
""Born in Leeds, England?"
Thank for helping me
Well said, truly, well said.
WarTorn Realms
Thank you very much for your tips! I really needed it, especially the last one. For the past 2 months, I've been working on my story but recently I've experienced an extreme writer's block and lack of confidence in my story. I've been trying to get back to it and thanks to your video, it gave me some motivation to keep going with my story. Thank you! :)
I'm in love with you.
Very nice tips :)
A+ Amazing explanation thank you very very much, I am a writer and no one that I've seen as of yet has articulated these points like you have; everything perfectly and I wish you Well on all your writings I appreciate you!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ““ I'm writing a ( Coming of age Fantasy) I have 6 years of Notes, for a 8 book Novel series ๐Ÿ˜ฉ but when it's done I KNOW it's going to Capture the hearts and minds of young and old. Can't wait till it's done
No offense but the music makes me really sad. If you could put in some more upbeat background music that would be awesome.
I have a problem with my story I can't decide weather 1st person or 3rd person...?!?!
I love your tips, and I'm already taking them to heart (even though I started writing my novel some time ago). Already, it's beginning to help. Thanks so much! I do have something I've been wondering about, and hoping that you could give me a tip or two on this? I am a fan of "Chosen One" narratives. You know what I'm talking about; stories where there's some ancient prophecy or manuscript foretelling the coming of a hero (or villain), and then the protagonist (or antagonist) of the story turns out to be that person. And, being a fan, I decided to incorporate that into my novel. However, I also realize that the "Chosen One" is probably the most overused trope in the entire Fantasy genre, and while I do have quite a few of the old tropes in my story already I also want it to have its own flavor and feel to it. I was wondering if you had any tips for how I could present it in a way that would not feel too cliched?
I've gotten about 15,000 words into my novel so far and I have a question you might be able to answer. I'm not sure of I should title my story as a fantasy or realistic fiction book because there's no magic or things that defy physics... but there'sย a completely different governmental system. It's hard to explain. I hope you can help me please XD
Great tips. Thanks for them :D Only one thing I would suggest is maybe turn down the piano or get rid of it.It was a bit distracting and covered your voice at times. Thanks again :)
I am quite sure that the tips you just gave in your video apply to all books, no matter the genre which made me doubt why the word 'fantasy' is in the title. Perhaps I have missed the essential part for that, that might be the case. Though maybe Fantasy stories need them more? I'm not quite sure. However, they are good tips obviously and should be common sense to anyone who will even think they want to pick up a pen and start writing so you reminding them is a good thing to do. Do you perhaps have any tips to write believable characters? I define 'believable' here as characters who react to their surroundings, each other and not in the last place to themselves in a way that readers can relate to them, that they don't come over as flat and that they act and do within the situations you as a writer confront hem with that makes them unique? Obviously each of your characters would react differently to the same situation so swapping the roles for them (now you are the protagonist and you are the anta- or titagonist) might be one of those tips just to see how they would react according to their characterical profile, but to actually 'create' these characters with that believable character profile which would be the first thing to write I suppose, that is what I'm looking for. My most burning question therefore is: how does one write a character or characters who fit in a previous already created certain world specifically for the story that is about to be written?
Music so LOUD, very distracting - had to listen several times to hear the advice - and thank you for the advice
Great advice! :D Thank you, Lady.
I'm trying to write a fantasy in G.R.R.M style. i've been trying to put the story together and i don't know how.
First time seeing this, music is an odd choice, but she has good tips.
The last tip is really what i needed to hear. I've been writing a fantasy book for so long. Maybe 3 years. I am finally starting to pick it up again. I find dungeons and Dragons sessions help me a lot with ideas. Being such a nerd i get so many ideas so fast. I really like the idea of making a family tree and taking notes wherever you are.
Thanks for video, great tips, specialty tip 4. (Perhaps lower the background music a little.) Well done though for sharing. Dave
